This EAGE E-lecture discusses diagenesis (post-depositional modification) of chalks and its effect on porosity evolution and reservoir quality. The principal focus is on the physical and chemical processes, as a function of burial, that alter these economically significant, fine-grained pelagic carbonate rocks.
